a. Direct Implementation of Watersheds:

SIED is currently handling implementation of 115 watershed/ village development projects in Maharashtra state. They are mainly supported by NABARD under IGWDP and NHWDP, MREGS and WOTR supported.

b. Trainings, Exposure visits, Workshops, Gatherings for Villagers:

Exposure visits, trainings and experience sharing gatherings are organized for the village communities, Village Watershed Committees (VWCs), women’s Self-Help Groups, Samyukt Mahila Samitis (Apex Body of the women’s SHGs) and Watershed Volunteers (Panlot Sevaks) involved in watershed and rural development activities.
 

c. Women’s Development Activities

Women’s development and empowerment is one of main thrust area. Formation of SHGs for savings and credit, which later move on to take up developmental and income generating activities, is the basic strategy followed. Social and drudgery reduction activities like smokeless chulhas, drinking water systems, kitchen gardens, LPG, toilets etc. have been taken up through these groups.
